My name is Adam Kiel, a Senior majoring
in Computer Science at Iowa State University.
Sleigh Consulting is a website consulting company specializing in website management and construction, writing (including ghostwriting) and social media marketing. They recommend and institute web solutions to make your blog, website or social media marketing initiative a powerful marketing tool. I currently consult with them for SEO analysis of their clients' domains.
At the Iowa State Bookstore, I work on the several websites that the bookstore maintains. We have three sites consisting of our different marketed products. I work mostly on JS scripts getting our pages compatable with our content management system. I also work on site analytics for ecommerce and other technical needs as they arise.
At the Memorial Union I run events as small as a single microphone to events that need full audio and lighting networks. I work closely with the Memorial Union Staff as well as the event producers to provide the best customer support for clients.
At Herzog I was on a team to develop a data gathering program that is now used by their Geographic Information Systems team. My team and I developed software that allowed the team to gather more accurate data along the tracks.
While working at the Iowa State Solution Center, I Supervised and trained student IT Solution Center employees. I worked alot one on one consulting with students and faculty to solve computer related issues and answer technology questions. I also resolved network connectivity issues for multiple departments on campus.
Throughout my educational career I have enjoyed exploring and teaching myself new programming languages and skills. While attending high school I was a member of the First Robotics team and I challenged myself to learn JAVA programming. During my time at Iowa State University, I have competed in several programming Hackathons and advanced my knowledge of web-based languages.
During the Fall 2016 ISU Hackathon I led a team to create a chrome extension entitled Rate ISU. The Rate ISU application incorporates the functionality of the RateMyProfessor website into the Iowa State class registration webpage. This app allows students to view the ratings of professors as they register for classes.
I am currently working on an Android operator application that implements Clarify’s image recognition API. This app is a multiplayer quasi-scavenger hunt game where the players take photos of the objects being searched for. I am also working on enabling peer to peer communication using a firebase server.
